The inVision Project is an innovative Visible Men program for schools and community agencies. The program immerses black male students in the study of success, achievement, and fulfillment.
Based on The Visible Men Success Principles , the inVision Project exposes black boys to the critical elements of personal prosperity. These building blocks help black boys visualize success, which is the first step in achieving it. These efforts are aimed at positioning black boys to be healthy and dedicated contributors to their families and communities.
inVision Project participants engage in the program by interacting with accomplished black men in their communities. The students create theme-based written, audiotaped, and videotaped “reports” on their subjects. These reports serve as the basis for inVision Project group discussions, which are facilitated by a school/agency representative, with the support of local Visible Men.
The student’s reports – written, audio, and video – are submitted to Visible Men and included in the ever-expanding collection of black male success stories across America. Selected reports are displayed through various media platforms on the Visible Men web site and are accessible by site visitors. Students are credited for their work and contributions to the Visible Men Movement.
The objectives of the inVision Project are:
1) To teach black boys the fundamentals of success
2) To expose black boys to role models in their communities
3) To help black boys develop success habits and apply them to their own lives
4) To cultivate within black boys an intrinsic attraction to and expectation of success
5) To position black boys to respect, honor, and serve the people in their lives
Finally, participating students gain access to an active online community – the VM Success Network – and a vast network of resources, special events, and most importantly, black male role models.
The inVision Project sets black boys on a path to recognize their gifts, reach their potential, and discover their destiny.
